Minnesota Based Trail Magic Wins National Honors
Our homegrown drink maker, Trail Magic, won national honors this week at the 2024 High Spirits Awards in California — a national celebration of cannabinoid-infused beverages. The winning flavor was the half-and-half iced tea lemonade, which contains 5mg of THC per can. Founder Jason Dayton was a pioneer in the THC-infused drink space in Minnesota. They were the first infused drink in the state and released their two flavors (Hop Water and Berry Basil) two years ago in an impressive 18 days, from idea to product launch.
Since Minnesota legalized cannabis and the sale of hemp-derived cannabis products, Trail Magic has been at the forefront of the industry. They emphasize a strong local brand but are also nationally recognized. Trail Magic is made by Minneapolis Cider Company and prides itself on 100% real ingredients.
Sweet Leaves is excited to carry a wide variety of its products and is proud to support another locally-based cannabis business that is expanding its reach nationally. We highly recommend the 5mg Iced Tea and Lemonade.
Uncorking the Mystery: Why Cannabis Gives You Dry Eyes
Dry eyes and cannabis are like having a glass of wine with cheese. It is nearly inevitable and not the most discreet way of making your way around town after having some fun. The question of why this happens is a naturally occurring theme with new users and seasoned veterans.
There are a few reasons why your eyes may turn red after consuming. First, THC may lower your blood pressure, which causes blood vessels and capillaries (micro blood vessels) to dilate, including the ocular (eye) capillaries. The dilation of ocular capillaries causes increased blood flow to the eyes, resulting in red eyes and reducing intraocular pressure. Research suggests that since cannabis can decrease intraocular pressure, it may be a viable treatment for glaucoma.
Keep in mind that cannabis affects everyone differently, and the amount of THC consumed can have a direct relationship with the redness in your eyes.
